Tips
- Review the day's location history
Open Location History when you want to look back at a child's activity across the day. The listed history can show location details, time spent at each place, and activity status for each time period. Use those details as a way to understand the recorded day, alongside any conversations or family plans that help explain a stop.
- Set up useful safe zones
The app description says parents can set customizable safe zones and receive notifications when a child enters or exits specific areas. Consider which places are useful for your family before setting them up, and look in the app's Settings for location or safe-zone controls if you need to adjust them. Keep location access and family expectations in mind.
- Shape a child's screen routine
FlashGet Kids describes screen-time schedules and app rules that can limit phone use or restrict the time spent in particular apps. Think through school, sleep, and family routines before choosing limits. Look in the app's Settings for screen-time or app-rule controls, and explain the rules to your child so the boundaries are clear.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. Select Weekly is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of FlashGet Kids:parental control changes?
No. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with HONGKONG FLASHGET NETWORK TECHNOLOGY. The app's Google Play page is the authority for its official listing and change information. Check that page for the current listing and availability before installing, and use the developer name to distinguish the official app from other apps with similar names.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
Google Play may show Open when the newer build is not offered to your account yet, including during a staged rollout, or when the app is already current for your device. Check the app's Play page again later. If Update appears, you can install it from there; if Open remains, you can continue using the installed app.
What can parents review in Location History?
The updated history is described as showing a child's historical activity, location details, time spent at each location, and activity status for each time period. Parents can use these details to review recorded movements through the day. The app separately describes customizable safe zones and alerts when a child enters or leaves a specified area.
