A short list of Android apps. Most of what exists is left off it, deliberately.
A catalogue that includes everything is really just a search engine with extra steps. Select APKs does the opposite: it decides, so opening the list is not the start of your work, it is closer to the end of it.
An app stays on the list only as long as it is genuine, maintained, and better than the obvious alternative. There is no tier for apps that almost qualify, and no way to pay onto the list. They are simply not included.
The list is already set down as a static page before you open it, so there is no loading spinner standing between you and a decision that has already been made.
Think something belongs on the list, or something on it should not be? Say so through the contact form. A good argument moves an app either way.
Rebuilt copies of other apps, unlocks bolted onto a paid app without permission, and anything wearing a name it did not earn. These do not get considered, let alone kept on the list.
Select APKs is kept by a small team who would rather say no to ninety apps than yes to all of them, and who take the shortness of the list as the point, not a limitation.
Apps are dropped the moment they stop earning their place, not left on out of habit. The list gets smaller before it gets wrong.
