Official listing by Adobe

Get the official app from Google Play and check that Adobe is shown as the developer before installing.

After it installs: three settings

  1. 01Choose reading voice

Acrobat Reader offers free voices for reading PDFs aloud, with higher-quality options available through an upgrade. Check the app for the voice choices that suit you.

Look in the app's Settings for reading aloud
  2. 02Review trial and plan

The listing offers a seven-day free trial and identifies several advanced tools as paid. Review the plan details before starting a trial or relying on a paid feature.

Look in the app's Settings for subscription details
  3. 03Check file access

The app can open, share and organize PDFs. Review the file you intend to work on before editing or sharing, especially when it contains information you want to keep private.

Look in the app's Settings for file access

Path as given in the developer's help pages; menu names can differ slightly between versions and phones.

Common problem

Can't open a PDF? First check that the file is available on your device or online, then close and reopen Acrobat Reader and try again. If the issue continues, check Google Play for an app update and confirm you can access the file from its current location.
