Zangi - Private Messenger 6.6.1: what changed
The changes focus on giving you more choice when someone outside your saved Zangi contacts first contacts you or adds you to a group. The build also includes Android 17 support and general maintenance.
What changed
- 01Choose how first contacts reach you
The new controls apply to the first message or call from people who are not in your saved Zangi contacts. You can accept the contact or block them at that point. Zangi describes this as more control over calls and messages, so it gives you a direct choice when an unfamiliar person reaches out.
- 02Decide about new group invitations
The group change applies when a user adds you to a group: Zangi offers a prompt with options to leave or accept. If you are invited into a conversation with people you do not know, this makes it easier to decide whether you want to participate. The controls are described as a way to have more say in groups.
- 03Report groups and improve stability
The reporting option lets users report groups and activates an automated ban algorithm. Alongside that change, the build notes list system enhancements and performance optimizations, as well as bug and ANR fixes. These are maintenance improvements intended to support smoother use, rather than a new messaging or calling feature.

Should you update now?
It is worth installing this build now: the new Accept and Block choices for unfamiliar callers and messages, plus the prompt for group additions, give you more control over who reaches you. Android 17 support and listed performance and stability work are useful additions too.

Worth knowing
Zangi says registration does not require a SIM card or phone number, and does not require sharing personal contacts; people need your exact Zangi Number to find your profile. Its description says messages, files, and chat history are stored on your phone, and describes end-to-end encryption for texts, media, files, and calls. Installing an update from Google Play keeps your mail/data and settings.
