Adobe Acrobat Reader just got an update. Did yours?
Issue 1 · Oct 13–19, 2026. This build's notes cover fixes and stability work, while Acrobat Reader brings PDF viewing, signing, editing and file organization together in one app. It is worth installing now for those everyday PDF tools; if Google Play offers it, the details are on the next screen.

Start NowWhat changed this week
These are the three changes in Adobe Acrobat Reader: Edit PDF that stand out in the developer's update notes and on its Google Play listing this week.
- 01Fixes and stability work
The notes cover fixes and stability work. That is the full update focus described for this build, alongside Acrobat Reader's established PDF tools.
- 02Worth using: fill and sign
Acrobat Reader includes Fill & Sign for completing forms and signing PDFs. It brings those common document tasks into the same app you use to read files.
- 03Worth using: organize PDF pages
The app's PDF tools can split or combine files and insert, delete, rotate, crop or reorder pages, helping you shape a document around its purpose.
Our call on whether to update, and the link to the official Google Play listing, are on this issue's Adobe Acrobat Reader: Edit PDF page.

Tips
- Use Fill & Sign for forms
Open a PDF form in Acrobat Reader and use Fill & Sign to complete fields or add your signature. The listing identifies this as a free-to-use feature. Before sharing, review the finished document so you can catch missed fields or an incorrect signature placement. Keep the original file if you may need to compare or complete it again.
- Listen to a PDF aloud
Acrobat Reader can read PDFs aloud, which can help when you want to follow a document while doing something else. The listing says free voices are available and higher-quality voice options may require an upgrade. For hands-free listening while driving, it also describes Android Auto support; use that only when your vehicle and setup support it.
- Keep related files together
When a document is spread across several PDFs, use the app's combine tool to bring multiple files into one, or split a PDF when separate files are more useful. Page controls also cover inserting, deleting, rotating, cropping and reordering pages. Some editing and conversion tools are paid features, so check access before planning a workflow around them.
Menu names follow the developer's help pages and can differ slightly between versions and phones.
How we write the digest
Each week we check the Google Play listings of the apps our readers use most: the version number, the update date and the developer's What's new notes. When an app has a new version, we put the developer's update notes and the listing details together on one page, in plain words, with a link to the official Google Play listing. Google and most developers release updates in stages over several days, so a version listed here may not have reached your phone yet. Select Weekly is an independent site and is not affiliated with any developer. This page doesn't read your phone or your Google account, and nothing is installed from here.
FAQ
Is this the official list of Adobe Acrobat Reader changes?
No. This is an independent site and is not affiliated with Adobe. The app's Google Play page is the authority for its current listing and update information. Check that page for the changes shown for your copy of Acrobat Reader, and use the developer name to confirm you are looking at Adobe's official app.
Why does Google Play show Open instead of Update?
Google Play may show Open when the build is not yet offered to your account or device; an update can also be made available in stages. Check the app page again later. If an update option appears, use Google Play to install it. The app's listed version can vary with device.
Which Acrobat Reader features are free?
The listing identifies Fill & Sign as free to use, and describes viewing, sharing, annotating, adding comments and signing documents as core app capabilities. It also labels AI Assistant and several editing, conversion and organization tools as paid features. A seven-day free trial is offered for trying all features, so check the current terms in the app.
