Which description best captures your essential mailbox?
Focus on the address you cannot comfortably leave behind. This question concerns the service holding your correspondence, rather than the icon you currently tap to read it.

Why we ask
Distinguish the mailbox provider from the application displaying its messages. Replacing the application does not automatically replace the address. Compatibility therefore deserves attention before organizational extras. Outlook and Spark name numerous supported services, whereas Proton's supplied description concentrates on its own addresses. A flexible answer leaves more room for your other priorities, but is not a promise that every candidate can connect every account.
Account arrangements described by the publishers
- Gmail
- Google presents Gmail as its official application, with switching among accounts belonging to different providers. The description also places it within Google Workspace; it does not enumerate every outside service supported.
- Microsoft Outlook
- Microsoft names Exchange, Microsoft 365, Outlook.com, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, iCloud, IMAP and POP3. Bringing correspondence into a unified inbox is an expressly advertised capability.
- Proton Mail: Encrypted Email
- The supplied description offers creation of @proton.me or @protonmail.com addresses and switching among Proton accounts. It does not establish general access to existing mailboxes hosted elsewhere.
- Spark Mail: AI Email, Calendar
- Spark advertises a combined inbox connecting services including AOL, GMX, Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, Microsoft Outlook, iCloud and IMAP. Its account list directly addresses people juggling providers.
An organization's access requirements can outweigh this comparison. Ask the administrator responsible for a school or business mailbox which applications are permitted; a provider name appearing in a listing is not organizational approval.
